Trip Stories is published by the team behind the Dutch smartshop Dutch-Smart. Product links on this site go to Dutch-Smart, and when you buy through such a link, the shop earns from the sale. We say this first because it affects how you should read everything else here.
Why this site exists
Online trip stories tend to fall into two groups: polished accounts of insight, and horror stories shared because they are shocking. Neither gives a fair picture of what most experiences are like. We wanted a place where the ordinary, the funny and the difficult sit next to each other, each with the facts that a story on its own leaves out: how long it lasts, what the law says and what can go wrong.
How the stories are made
- Composite, always. Every story is assembled from patterns that recur in published experience reports, surveys and laboratory studies. None of them describes one real person, and we never invent names, ages, places, reviews or testimonials. Every story page carries a label saying so.
- Sources. Durations come from controlled studies and public drug information services such as DRUGSinfo (Trimbos Institute), FRANK and the Alcohol and Drug Foundation. Legal status comes from the law texts and court rulings themselves, with the date we checked them.
- No instructions. We do not publish amounts, recipes, preparation or sourcing for controlled substances.
- No medical claims. We make no claims of any kind about health or medical effects.
- Shop descriptions are labelled. Where we describe a product, we quote how Dutch-Smart describes it and say so.
Every page shows the date it was last updated. Laws, products and research change. If you find something that is out of date or wrong, Dutch-Smart's customer service can pass it on to us.
Who is behind the shop
Dutch-Smart is a Dutch smartshop that has been online since 2011. It ships from the Netherlands and sells to adults only. Magic truffles and salvia are legal to buy in the Netherlands; most other countries have stricter laws, so check the law where you are before you order anything.
